Warehouse Specialist

About This Role

This role involves performing a variety of warehousing duties, including verifying, routing, storing, and preparing materials for shipment, based on an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. It requires assisting with inventory management, operating company vehicles, and maintaining tools and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan
• Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials; examine stored materials and report deterioration and damage
• Remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment
• Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties
• Verify materials against receiving documents, note and report discrepancies and obvious damages
• Route materials to prescribed storage locations; store, stack or palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage methods
• Assist with inventory, evaluation of general property
• Operate company vehicles and material handling equipment
• Select storage location and record selected location on inventory worksheets
• Maintain tools, equipment, and facilities
• Assist in remitting, transferring, and releasing property
• Assist with loading and unloading of material being transported

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent training/experience
• Six to twelve months job related experience and/or training
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to operate a government general-purpose vehicle
