Finance Analyst

About This Role

The Financial Analyst will assist in developing and managing financial summaries, reports, and data call responses for project Sponsors, Leads, and the Department. This role involves documenting and tracking expenditures and assisting with accounting actions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in documenting and maintaining project financial and budgetary items
• Process administrative related actions
• Document and track expenditures and expenditure rates
• Investigate, document, and respond to requests for the review of unliquidated obligations
• Assist in the creation and upkeep of accounting actions, status tracking, and data collection in EDW, ERP, and IBPES

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business or Finance) OR Five (5) years demonstrated experience analyzing program budgets
• Active Secret US Government Clearance
• US Citizenship (required to maintain Secret Clearance)
• Demonstrated ability to analyze current and past financial data and performance
• Demonstrated ability to prepare reports and projections based on analysis
• Demonstrated ability to identify trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement
• Demonstrated ability to identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
• Demonstrated ability to reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
• Demonstrated experience using advanced Microsoft Excel functions to produce graphs, charts, and pivot tables

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferably in Business or Finance)
• Entry-level; 5 years demonstrated experience analyzing program budgets may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have

• Working knowledge of ERP
• Working knowledge of IBPES
• Knowledge of government financial types/systems
