Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor - Masters

About This Role

The Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities, guiding them through assessment, program planning, and job placement. This role involves developing personalized rehabilitation plans, arranging services, and collaborating with various stakeholders to maximize employment outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Collect customer's medical and psychological information and determine their eligibility for services.
• Monitor local labor market trends to facilitate effective job placement.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate customer's skills, abilities, occupational interests, and goals.
• Interpret and explain medical, psychological, and vocational information to customers.
• Collaborate with customers to develop and implement personalized rehabilitation and employment plans.
• Arrange appointments, training sessions, and assessments for vocational programs.
• Investigate complaints to resolve customer and employer concerns.
• Educate employers and the public on rehabilitation services and employment of individuals with disabilities.
• Cultivate professional relationships with internal staff, vendors, and community organizations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a related field
• Complete a criminal history disclosure form and background check
• Supply a fingerprint sample for TBI based criminal history records check
• Produce a transcript verifying degree and completed courses

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a Master's/doctoral program in a related field with specific course content.
