About This Role

This role is a Vocational Rehabilitation Career Training Coordinator responsible for cultivating, maintaining, and coordinating workforce partnerships to increase employment opportunities for customers. It involves providing a broad array of individualized services to individuals on their employment path.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate, maintain, and coordinate collaborative workforce partnerships by explaining and describing programs and services to various audiences such as local Chambers of Commerce, businesses, government entities and other community partners.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships in the community to increase referrals and applications to the VR Program.
  • Assist in the development of long-range objectives and strategies to achieve Community Tennessee Rehabilitation Center (CTRC) program goals and objectives.
  • Plan and conduct quarterly CTRC advisory board meetings and participate in local labor workforce board meetings.
  • Develop and coordinate community-based training and career exploration services such as apprenticeships, internships, and work-based learning for customers with local businesses.
  • Develop curriculum and/or routinely review and modify existing curriculum.
  • Facilitate career readiness classes utilizing a variety of strategies and training environments.
  • Schedule and facilitate career assessments, interest inventories, and vocational evaluations, and coordinate assistive technology assessments and services.
  • Develop and coordinate job retention and job loss services that benefit both the customer and the employer.
  • Complete, submit, and track annual funding requests to local city and county governments and communicate a return on investment to local funding partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of professional experience in listed fields
  • Complete a criminal history disclosure form
  • Agree to release all records involving their criminal history
  • Supply a fingerprint sample for a criminal history records check
  • Submit to a review of their status on the Department of Health's vulnerable persons registry

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of full-time professional experience in business management, education, training, employment or career consulting/counseling, human resources, social services or human services case management, or vocational rehabilitation. Qualifying graduate coursework may substitute for required experience up to two years. Additional qualifying full-time professional experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis.
