About This Role

This role assists in the successful operation and profitability of the vitamin and body care departments by providing world-class customer service, managing inventory, and supporting sales initiatives. The assistant also helps with merchandising, training, and various store functions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide world-class customer service and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Exemplify integrity, responsibility, and adherence to all company policies.
  • Create inviting, well-stocked, and shoppable departments.
  • Assist department managers in ordering for vitamin and body care and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Help manage margin, drive sales, minimize shrink, and maximize effective purchasing.
  • Ensure all in-stock products and conditions meet company standards.
  • Offer and follow up on special orders for customers.
  • Merchandise shelves, endcaps, and dynamic displays.
  • Assist in managing and participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock.
  • Aid in training and monitoring department personnel, including task assignment and follow-up.
  • Conduct active and passive product demonstrations.
  • Support store opening and closing activities, including Daily Sales Report (DSR) and cash handling.
  • Handle register functions, including backup cashiering, customer returns, complaints, and shift changes.
  • Maintain the safety and security of customers and employees.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass food safety training courses/certifications
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused
  • Sense of urgency in completing tasks
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and follow through
  • Cashier trained and able to count currency

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year of experience in grocery, retail, or vitamins/supplements preferred; 1 year of experience supervising others preferred.

  • 1 year of experience supervising others
  • 1 year of experience in vitamins/supplements
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
