Receiving Assistant

About This Role

The Receiving Assistant supports the Receiving Manager in the efficient operation of the receiving department, ensuring accurate product handling, inventory management, and a clean back room. This role contributes to world-class customer service by facilitating product delivery to the sales floor and assisting with various store operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class customer service as a number one priority.
• Assist the receiving department manager in accurately receiving all incoming products including date, accuracy, and damage checking.
• Scan all incoming and outgoing product.
• Stage products for efficient delivery to the sales floor.
• Process POs, RPOs, mispicks, invoices, and paperwork timely and accurately.
• Research and process all discrepancies.
• Communicate with department managers regarding delivery issues and vendor out-of-stocks.
• Operate a forklift and pallet jack as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized back room.
• Assist in training and monitoring of department personnel, including assigning and following up on tasks.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Ability to pass food safety training courses and/or certifications as required by law.
• Ability to manage changing priorities.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of experience in grocery/retail or receiving environment preferred.

Nice to Have

• 1 year of experience in grocery/retail or receiving environment.
• Natural foods background.
• 1 year of experience supervising others.
