As a Uniform Security Officer, you will ensure the safety and security of client properties by conducting patrols, monitoring activities, and responding to emergencies. This role involves assisting staff and visitors while maintaining a professional presence.
Responsibilities
- Assist client staff, visitors, and coworkers while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor
- Stay alert and observe for any suspicious activities and incidents
- Maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in building lobbies, reception areas, and control centers
- Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas performing security officer duties
- Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas and follow proper access procedures
- Ensure a safe and secure environment, enforcing policies and procedures, and reporting safety concerns
- Assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED care and communicating with emergency personnel
- Maintain professional communication with client staff, follow through with client requests, and keep supervisors updated
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent education certification (GED)
- Ability to pass a drug screening (including for marijuana)
- No felony convictions per MCL 338.1060 10(1)(c)
- No misdemeanor convictions related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances, or two or more alcohol related offenses per MCL 338.1060 10(1)(c)
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for 8-12 hours
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted)
- Ability to hear conversations in loud environments
- Ability to use a smart mobile phone or computer
- Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Professionalism and excellent customer service skills
- Excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude
- Ability to complete required trainings on time and adhere to policies
