Security Officer - Construction Site

About This Role

Protect a construction site in Covert, MI, including buildings, equipment, and assets, against criminal activity, vandalism, accidents, and fires. This role also provides outstanding customer service and involves utilizing a personal vehicle and cell phone for duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service
• Guard posts, including outdoor positions, building lobbies, or reception areas
• Utilize personal cell phone to make hourly wellness phone calls into the DK Command Center during overnight shifts
• Conduct hourly foot patrol of interior and exterior to check entrances, doors, windows and vents are locked and secure
• Take inventory of the equipment on-site
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas
• Check for employee and vendor identifications
• Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities
• Follow site-specific post guidelines
• Report potentially hazardous conditions and items in need of repair

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to pass a criminal background check with no felony or relevant misdemeanor convictions
• Ability to successfully pass a drug test at time of hire and annually thereafter
• Working cell phone and ability to make hourly wellness calls
• Reliable vehicle and willingness to travel to multiple locations
• Impeccable grooming adhering to Appearance and Grooming policy
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
• Ability to read and write English language and interpret documents
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• Flexible availability and willingness to work on short notice
