Armed Security Officer

About This Role

This role involves protecting the site's building, grounds, assets, employees, and visitors from criminal activity, primarily at a local military headquarters. The successful candidate will work as part of a team, controlling access points and serving as a point of contact for patrons.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service
• Guard posts at entry/exit points of the local military base
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of interior and exterior grounds
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas
• Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications
• Look for suspicious persons, packages, and activities
• Follow site-specific post guidelines
• Document daily activities and report all incidents

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• Must have a current, valid State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License
• Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• May NOT have any felony convictions
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test
• Must be a citizen of the United States of America
• Must be able to adhere to Appearance and Grooming policy
• Must be able to present a friendly, positive, professional image
• Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Must be able to read and write the English language and interpret documents
• Must possess a valid State of Michigan driver’s license, and have a clean driving record

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Nice to Have

• Willingness to become CPR/1st Aide/AED Certified
• Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or armed security
