Protect the site's building, grounds, assets, employees, and visitors against criminal activity, accidents, fires, and natural disasters. Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring safety and security in a professional setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service
- Guard posts, including building lobbies or reception areas
- Conduct hourly foot patrols of interior and exterior to check entrances, doors, windows, and vents are locked and secure
- Monitor surroundings on closed-circuit television
- Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas
- Check for employee and vendor identifications
- Look for suspicious persons, packages, and activities
- Provide first aid or other medical treatment in emergency situations
- Operate x-ray and/or metal detection equipment where deployed
- Report potentially hazardous conditions and items in need of repair
- Document daily activities and incident reports
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a drug screening (including for marijuana)
- No felony convictions (per MCL 338.1060 §10(1)(c))
- No misdemeanor convictions related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances, or two or more alcohol-related offenses (per MCL 338.1060 §10(1)(c))
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8-12 hours
- Ability to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted if necessary)
- Ability to hear conversations in loud environments
- Ability to use a smart mobile phone or computer for emails and online training
- Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills
- Excellent personal integrity and a positive attitude
- Ability to complete required trainings and adhere to all client and company policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education certification, such as a GED
