Team Lead - Customer Relations

About This Role

Lead and direct associates within a department, ensuring excellent customer service and achievement of sales and inventory goals. This role involves merchandising, training, and resolving customer and associate issues.

Responsibilities

• Support achievement of Departmental Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Shrinkage, and Payroll Goals
• Provide daily direction to associates within the department
• Execute all merchandising directives and maintain plan-o-grams
• Ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers
• Assist in staffing the department with service-oriented associates, including interviewing and training
• Consult on and provide input for performance appraisals and prepare weekly work schedules
• Coach and motivate associates to promote positive customer relations and a productive team environment
• Resolve customer and associate opportunities in coordination with management and HR
• Maintain a high level of personal Customer Service and exceed company average customer service results
• Conduct product demos and remain a product expert through ongoing knowledge training
• Assist with coordination of special events, pricing, inventory accuracy, and display of advertised items
• Assist in carrying out supervisory responsibilities including planning, assigning work, and evaluating performance
• Assist customers in making buying decisions by identifying needs and making product recommendations
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 to 4 years in Retail Sales experience
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages
• Ability to read and analyze reports
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Managers, associates, customers, and the general public
• Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 to 4 years in Retail Sales
