Team Lead - Camping

About This Role

Lead and supervise a department team within a retail store, focusing on merchandise presentation, inventory control, and customer service to achieve sales and financial goals. Provide daily direction to associates and ensure a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the Group Sales or Department Manager in achieving Departmental Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Shrinkage, and Payroll Goals
• Provide daily direction to associates within the department
• Prepare to-do / Task lists for the team
• Execute all merchandising directives and maintain plan-o-grams
• Ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers
• Assist in staffing the department, participating in interviewing and training new associates
• Resolve customer and associate opportunities in coordination with management and HR
• Maintain a high level of personal Customer Service and achieve company average results in surveys
• Remain a product expert through ongoing training and conduct product demonstrations for staff
• Assist with coordination of Special Events, pricing, inventory accuracy, and display of advertised items
• Assist in carrying out Supervisory responsibilities, including training, planning, assigning work, and evaluating performance

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years of experience in Retail Sales
• Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems
• Strong interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 to 4 years in Retail Sales
