General Maintenance

About This Role

The General Maintenance role supports store operations by completing work order service requests, performing preventive maintenance, and overseeing service contractors for routine maintenance. This position requires broad skills in various building trades and mechanical aptitude to maintain facilities, support energy conservation, and manage waste programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical repair including lamp changing, light fixture repair/installation, and diagnostics
• Perform plumbing repair including pump and fixture installations/replacements/repair, drain cleaning, and diagnostics
• Maintain basic understanding of commercial HVAC equipment operation and maintenance procedures
• Perform basic mechanical repair on tractors, forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, and other equipment
• Repair building components such as painting, wall repair, minor carpentry, and floor repair
• Perform periodic building operation "tune up" to ensure energy conservation and waste management efforts
• Maintain all equipment necessary to perform work
• Complete preventative and reparative maintenance including electric maintenance, mechanics, hydraulics, carpentry, and masonry

Requirements

• High School education or 1-2 year vocational training
• High mechanical ability
• Willingness to work with and oversee the work of others
• Verifiable experience in maintenance related work fields
• Experience demonstrating skills in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical trades
