Tax Manager

About This Role

Lead and manage multiple tax engagements for a firm specializing in privately owned businesses, not-for-profits, government, and SEC market clients. Ensure the delivery of exceptional service while developing and mentoring less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Prepare complex tax returns and conduct tax research
• Review the tax work of less experienced staff to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Respond to notices and correspondence from tax authorities
• Review tax information provided by clients and follow up with questions
• Recognize, anticipate, and resolve tax issues, making appropriate recommendations
• Market services to both existing and prospective clients
• Work effectively in a cross-functional team and build strong relationships with partners
• Adapt quickly to new tasks and accept direction

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 4-7+ years of relevant tax experience
• CPA certification
• Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, compliance, and various types of tax returns
• Ability to identify and mitigate tax risks
• Experience in tax research
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to review tax returns for accuracy and compliance
• Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
