Tax Manager

About This Role

Manage and oversee federal, state, and local tax return preparation and filing for various entities, ensuring compliance and providing strategic tax planning for clients. This role involves reviewing junior staff's work and assisting with tax audits.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for various entities including C-Corps, S-Corps, and partnerships
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and laws, keeping up to date with any changes in tax legislation that may affect clients
• Provide strategic tax planning and advice to clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings and efficient tax structuring
• Review and analyze tax returns prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Develop and implement tax compliance policies and procedures to ensure best practices are followed within the firm
• Assist clients with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions and activities
• Train and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development

Requirements

• 6+ years in public accounting with an emphasis in taxation
• Experienced with a variety of business taxes including S-Corp, C-Corp and Partnerships
• 2+ years of review experience
• B.S. in Accounting or related field

Qualifications

• B.S. in Accounting or related field
• At least 6 years in public accounting with an emphasis in taxation; at least 1 year in a manager capacity but experienced supervisors and seniors are encouraged to apply; at least 2 years of review experience
