Supply Chain Supervisor

About This Role

The Supply Chain Returns Supervisor will support and assist the Operations Manager with day-to-day activities in their assigned functional area. This role is responsible for safety, service, cost, quality, and effective team leadership, ensuring consistency with business and customer service objectives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the processing of returned merchandise, ensuring items are inspected for damage and determining appropriate disposition per company policy.
• Provide hands-on leadership, directing and leading team members to achieve customer service and department objectives.
• Train, coach, develop, and manage 10 to 40 team members in assigned functional areas.
• Partner with Customer Care, Inventory Control, and downstream customers to resolve discrepancies and improve the returns process.
• Analyze operational procedures and processes to suggest improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operating costs.
• Assure safety and maintain acceptable departmental organization and housekeeping standards.
• Maintain team member production and accuracy records, labor hours, and carryover reports.
• Communicate with team members and all levels of management to foster positive relationships and proactively solve problems.

Requirements

• Strong leadership and understanding of return logistics, inventory systems, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to take ownership of the returns department.
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods.
• Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to initiate accurate correspondence and reports.

Qualifications

• Six months direct management experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or fulfillment center environment preferred.

Nice to Have

• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
