About This Role

This role is for a Supervisor Clinical Nurse (RN) within the Capacity Coordination Center, focusing on patient flow and transfer functions for the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health system. The supervisor will lead, mentor staff, and serve as a clinical resource.

Responsibilities

  • Assign staff to daily tasks considering DHMC and system hospital capacity, call volumes, anticipated patient movement, and staff skill mix
  • Provide real-time monitoring of volumes and workload and act as front-line resource to staff
  • Address potential barriers to effective capacity coordination and work to mitigate barriers
  • Facilitate workflow processes and flow optimization, quality assurance and protocol compliance
  • Ensure telemedicine lines utilizing call center/triage service meet service line standards for turnaround time, accuracy, support, coordination of care, clinical documentation and communication, and customer service
  • Participate in the development and reporting of measures of success and evaluation of clinical/operational outcomes
  • Communicate problems that may compromise patient care to the appropriate departmental leadership
  • Provide management/leadership in crisis situations to prevent or minimize disruption of services
  • Participate in performance management of staff members to include coaching, preparation of performance evaluations and performance management process
  • Act as liaison with outside hospitals regarding capacity coordination in the system

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program
  • Bachelor's Degree (e.g. BSN, BA, BS) at time of hire, or degree expected within 36 months of hire
  • 2 years of progressive responsibility within an acute care setting
  • Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Excellent written, verbal and computer skills
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated abilities with problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork
  • Ability to work effectively in groups of employees and with patients and patient families

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program; Bachelor's Degree (e.g. BSN, BA, BS) at time of hire, or degree expected within 36 months of hire
  • 2 years of progressive responsibility within an acute care setting required
