Parking Enforcement Officer

About This Role

This role involves patrolling and maintaining public and employee parking lots, enforcing parking regulations, and providing assistance to patients, visitors, and guests at Dartmouth Health. The position requires monitoring compliance, issuing tickets, addressing safety hazards, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all parking lots for compliance with Medical Center parking regulations
• Provide advice and guidance to patients, visitors and guests as needed
• Ticket unauthorized parked cars as necessary
• Watch for and follow up on safety hazard parking situations
• Provide vehicle assistance services such as jump starts, tire changes/inflation, vehicle unlocks, escorts for gas, vehicle relocation, and snow removal
• Direct and control traffic
• Conduct directed patrols as assigned
• Document incidents occurring in the parking lots, including motor vehicle crashes
• Set up and program traffic information message trailers
• Maintain proficiency in use of traffic enforcement software and utilize it to issue tickets
• Respond to emergencies and code calls as required, performing patient care functions of CPR including AED use
• Assist with parking space and utilization surveys, and rearrange parking barricades for special needs/events
• Assist DHART with helicopter arrivals and departures using proper flight safety training

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED/equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
