Pre Op / PACU Registered Nurse

About This Role

Continuously assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process within the Pre-Op and PACU units, demonstrating age-appropriate care and adhering to established standards.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process for patient care, including assessing symptoms, planning interventions, implementing treatment plans, evaluating responses, and revising plans.
• Demonstrate skills to provide age-appropriate care to the served population.
• Adhere to established practices, standards, and procedures for medication administration.
• Make knowledgeable decisions considering patient facts and disease/surgical conditions.
• Provide education to patients and caregivers based on assessed learning needs.
• Create and monitor a safe patient environment free from hazards.
• Perform all aspects of patient care optimizing safety and reducing errors.
• Manage patient admission process to surgical services.
• Collaborate with anesthesia/surgeon to provide comprehensive admission care.
• Perform duties to meet department needs for patient preparation in surgical services.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• 2 years relevant clinical practice
• Licensed RN with NH Eligibility
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• 2 years relevant clinical practice, preferred critical care or PACU experience

Nice to Have

• Critical care experience
• PACU experience
