About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) II assumes responsibility and accountability for patient care, utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive care to a diverse patient population in a designated timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing systematic assessment and data collection focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status.
  • Formulate and prioritize goal-directed plans of care based on patient needs and available resources.
  • Implement thorough, skillful, consistent, and continuous patient care.
  • Identify patient/family learning needs and act to meet them.
  • Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to patient/family rights, age-specific needs, cultural and ethical beliefs.
  • Provide and coordinate care for various patient populations.
  • Establish effective working relationships with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
  • Utilize effective communication methods and skills, following lines of authority.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and apply safety principles within the institution.
  • Perform efficiently in emergency patient care situations, following protocols and documenting events.
  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for professional practice.
  • Participate regularly in staff development activities for unit and department personnel.
  • Document patient care and unit activities in a timely, accurate, and concise manner.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) II certification
  • Ability to navigate in a windows environment, utilizing a mouse and the ability to learn electronic medical record system application
