Staff Accountant

About This Role

Join Lions Clubs International Foundation as a Staff Accountant to perform month-end closing procedures, including reconciliation of grants, donations, and restricted funds, and prepare month-end journal entries. This role will also contribute to budget and forecast processes, annual audits, and tax return preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, verify and control the entering of selected journal entries to the general ledger
• Perform monthly account reconciliations, analysis, and related journal entry preparation and posting
• Assist in reviewing and updating monthly closing procedures
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and the Board of Trustees
• Review and analyze variances and provide commentary for reports
• Provide support for the coordination and reporting of the budget and forecast
• Prepare periodic cash flow analysis
• Produce analysis of special year-end items (e.g., allowance for uncollectible pledges)
• Compile selected schedules for external auditors
• Provide support for tax preparation and year-end reporting
• Assist in reviewing and updating procedures and internal controls
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing professional publications

Requirements

• BS or BA in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
• 2-3 years related accounting experience
• Strong communication skills

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Accounting/Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum two to three years’ related experience

Nice to Have

• Advanced Excel
• Experience with ERP software systems such as SAP
