This Staff Accountant opportunity involves managing financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliant tax filings for a client in Farmington, CT. The role focuses on financial accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger and supporting financial records
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and assist with monthly/quarterly closings
• Collaborate with internal teams to prepare, review, and file tax returns and related documentation
• Ensure strict compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and tax regulations
• Aid in preparing financial statements and reports for management review
• Support audit processes and respond to auditor requests
• Identify and recommend process improvements

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field
• Strong knowledge of corporate tax practices and regulations
• Proficiency in managing sales tax filings and compliance
• Experience with preparing and reviewing journal entries
• Familiarity with maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts
• Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools
