Staff Accountant

About This Role

This Staff Accountant will join the team on a contract basis, playing a critical part in maintaining supplier data accuracy, validating invoice processes, and supporting accounts payable operations. This role demands expertise in accounting systems and strong analytical skills to ensure efficient and accurate financial procedures.

Responsibilities

• Audit and update supplier information to ensure accuracy and completeness within the accounting system
• Assist in transitioning vendors to electronic submission platforms, providing guidance and support
• Validate and manually review invoices processed through Oracle systems to ensure data accuracy and proper application
• Investigate recurring system errors and collaborate with vendors to implement invoice template improvements
• Develop and maintain procedural documentation to support the accounts payable team
• Communicate new processes to suppliers and provide ongoing assistance during system transitions
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend automation solutions
• Serve as a subject matter expert for accounts payable questions related to supplier data and system validations
• Record and analyze error patterns to improve procedural efficiency and accuracy

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable roles
• Proficiency in Oracle systems and familiarity with invoice processing
• Strong knowledge of general ledger operations and accounts payable procedures
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Experience in developing and documenting financial processes
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to effectively communicate with vendors and internal teams

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable roles
