About This Role

This role involves posting and maintaining general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles, reporting directly to the Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities

  • Post daily and monthly entries to the general ledger
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
  • Assist with month end and year end close
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately
  • Research and assist with inquiries and requested information in a timely manner
  • Apply knowledge of Excel to analyze financial data and create models
  • Continuously seek ways to streamline accounting processes and workflows

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a major in accounting, finance, or economics
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting, banking industry preferred

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the banking industry
