Staff Accountant

About This Role

This Staff Accountant position is responsible for managing financial reporting, general ledger, and various accounting functions to ensure timely and accurate financial information for the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting and general ledger
• Process bi-weekly payroll and review time and attendance reports
• Process vendor invoices and internal check requests, maintaining vendor files
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures
• Reconcile bank accounts, patient collections, and maintain fixed assets
• Manage equipment lease accounts and prepare monthly sales tax returns
• Process patient refunds and analyze reconciliations
• Ensure timely reporting and funding of 401K accounts
• Maintain accruals for profit sharing calculations and distributions
• Prepare annual census reporting, W3, W2 forms, and property tax reports
• Prepare quarterly financial reports and dashboard reporting for physicians
• Analyze expenses and ratios, providing expense management analysis to the CEO
• Calculate and distribute quarterly call pay allocations to participating physicians

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• PC proficient with strong Microsoft Excel and Word experience
• Minimum of two years experience in financial reporting/general ledger area
• Minimum of two years experience in healthcare related field or public accounting

• Bachelor degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
• Minimum of two years experience in financial reporting/general ledger area, and two years in healthcare related field or public accounting

• Experience with Centricity Practice Management system
• Ten key by touch
