About This Role

Provide medically prescribed speech therapy services to clients in their homes, addressing speech, language, swallowing, and aural problems. Participate in developing and implementing plans of care and documenting client progress.

Responsibilities

  • Perform speech, language, swallowing, and aural evaluations, procedures, admissions, and diagnostic tests on clients
  • Provide direct speech service to clients under physician’s plan of care
  • Maintain appropriate records on client visits, including evaluation and plan of care
  • Assist in coordinating speech therapy program with other services to family members
  • Demonstrate therapy for family members or responsible persons to assist clients with rehabilitation
  • Observe and evaluate performance of those assisting in the speech program and provide guidance
  • Counsel clients and family members regarding speech, language, swallowing, and audiological disturbances
  • Re-evaluate client progress and therapy program, making changes as necessary under physician’s direction
  • Assist in referring clients to speech and audiology clinics and other community agencies
  • Participate in interdisciplinary conferences as required
  • Submit clinical documentation in a timely manner according to agency policy
  • Complete Oasis assessments accurately at appropriate time points

Requirements

  • MA/MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Speech-Language Pathology
  • At least one year of work experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association
  • CPR certification
  • Current driver's license with access to an auto and required insurance coverage

Qualifications

  • MA/MS degree and graduation from an accredited school of Speech-Language Pathology
  • At least one year of work experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist

Certifications

CPR certification (Required) Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (Required)
