Implement treatment programs for pediatric patients with cognitive, speech, language, and social/emotional disabilities by providing speech therapy services in home and community settings. This role involves assisting patients to develop or regain functioning and educating caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care and meet the needs of the patient and family by implementing speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the speech therapist supervisor
- Assist pediatric patients to develop or regain cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing and/or social/emotional functioning and improve their level of independence by implementing skilled interventions
- Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to develop skills to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential
Requirements
- Texas State SLPA License
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
