Implement and administer occupational therapy treatment programs for pediatric patients with a variety of disabilities or delays, focusing on improving their independence and maximizing their potential.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care by performing evaluations, interpreting assessment results, and developing appropriate goals.
- Create and implement occupational therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician.
- Assist pediatric and young adult patients in physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADL’s, and social/emotional development.
- Educate, coach, and empower caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with physician orders.
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system.
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
Requirements
- State license
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
