About This Role

Implement treatment programs for pediatric patients with various disabilities and delays by performing evaluations, developing goals, and administering occupational therapy in home and community settings. This role involves educating and empowering caregivers to ensure continuation of therapeutic plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality care and meet the needs of the patient and family by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results
  • Develop goals appropriate for children and create and implement occupational therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician
  • Assist pediatric and young adult patients in areas of physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADL’s, and social/emotional development
  • Improve patient independence by implementing skilled interventions to maximize each child's potential
  • Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to develop skills to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine
  • Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with physician orders
  • Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs
  • Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system
  • Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential

Requirements

  • State Occupational Therapist license
  • Current CPR certification

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred

Nice to Have

  • 1 year of experience in occupational therapy
