Implement treatment programs for pediatric patients with physical, cognitive, sensory, and social/emotional disabilities by providing occupational therapy in home and community settings. Assist patients in developing independence and educate caregivers to carry over therapeutic activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results
- Develop appropriate goals for children and create occupational therapy treatment plans
- Assist pediatric and young adult patients in physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADLs, and social/emotional development
- Implement skilled interventions to maximize patient potential
- Educate, coach, and empower caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician orders
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by instructing patients and families in home exercise programs
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential
Requirements
- State license
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
