Occupational Therapist

About This Role

Implement treatment programs for pediatric patients with physical, cognitive, sensory, and social/emotional disabilities by providing occupational therapy in home and community settings. Assist patients in developing independence and educate caregivers to carry over therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality care by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results
• Develop appropriate goals for children and create occupational therapy treatment plans
• Assist pediatric and young adult patients in physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADLs, and social/emotional development
• Implement skilled interventions to maximize patient potential
• Educate, coach, and empower caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities
• Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician orders
• Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by instructing patients and families in home exercise programs
• Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system
• Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential

Requirements

• State license
• Current CPR certification

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
