Implement and administer speech therapy services for pediatric patients in a home and community setting. Assist with cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional development. Empower caregivers with therapeutic activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results
- Develop goals appropriate to individual child needs
- Create and implement speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician
- Implement skilled interventions to maximize patient potential
- Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician orders
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing home exercise programs
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential
Requirements
- ASHA certification
- State License
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
