Operate assigned ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies, guiding patients through procedures with excellent customer service. This role focuses on patient care and accurate imaging for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities
- Screen patients before exams for precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers
- Explain and prepare patients for sonography imaging procedures, including positioning
- Perform routine and advanced sonography imaging procedures with minimal supervision
- Adjust sonography scan parameters correctly as needed
- Follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to safety regulations
- Accurately maintain patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Maintain an orderly and clean work area, including equipment
- Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
- Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
- Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary
