About This Role

Operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images, providing patient-centered care and guiding patients through the imaging process for a healthcare provider.

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients for precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers
  • Explain and prepare patients for MRI procedures, explaining the procedure and positioning patients
  • Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for diagnostic purposes
  • Adjust MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
  • Follow physicians' orders precisely, conform to safety regulations, and accurately maintain patient records within RIS
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment
  • Maintain equipment in good working order; clean and disinfect equipment after each use
  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary
  • Assist in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise
