Lead and manage a shift team within a manufacturing environment, driving critical performance metrics in safety, training, and development while ensuring operational efficiency and productivity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals and foster a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Coach, mentor, and lead shift team members according to core values and strategic vision
- Complete Day One Onboarding for all new employees in Spotlight
- Utilize skill matrix process for recognition, motivation, and retention of associates
- Complete regular performance reviews and provide continuous feedback
- Identify training needs and implement development programs to enhance team capabilities
- Foster a positive, inclusive work environment through open communication and collaboration
- Ensure appropriate staffing and skill levels to meet scorecard goals, assisting in recruitment and talent development
- Demonstrate safety leadership by driving accountability, awareness, and compliance within the production team
- Coordinate work schedules for the assigned shift, engaging staffing agencies as needed
- Oversee day-to-day operations, manage priorities, and align the team with organizational goals
- Monitor plant cleanliness, Food Safety requirements, and 5S expectations
- Identify and act on lead measures to support scrap reduction and cycle efficiency targets
- Manage resource planning and deployment within the shift to efficiently meet customer expectations
- Monitor production performance indicators and take action to identify root causes of variances
- Address conflicts and issues promptly and constructively, mediating disputes and facilitating discussions
- Build strong relationships with team members to understand needs, concerns, and aspirations
Requirements
- Excellent Leadership Skills
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
- Technical aptitude (basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn mechanical systems, tooling, & plastic manufacturing)
- Ability to interact with and train a diverse group of personnel
- Ability to work cross functionally
Qualifications
- Preferred 3+ years of experience managing people in a manufacturing environment; Preferred 1+ years of injection molding experience.
Nice to Have
- 3+ years experience managing people in a manufacturing environment
- 1+ years of injection molding experience
- Experience with JDE system
