About This Role

The Shift Manager works collaboratively with store associates to ensure company policies are followed, departmental goals are met, and associate needs are supported. This role drives sales, provides exceptional customer service, and supports day-to-day store operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, teach, and reinforce company culture, customer service, and performance expectations to all associates
  • Assist in training new associates
  • Document violations of company policies/procedures and conduct progressive disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Answer questions and provide guidance to guests and associates
  • Ensure all department standards are being met in the store
  • Observe sales floor and back stock conditions; take action to correct areas of opportunity
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with Store Manager, Department Managers, and associates to maintain standards and exceed guest expectations
  • Oversee sanitation within the store
  • Provide customer service to guests, assisting with item location and resolving concerns
  • Assist all department associates with daily responsibilities while leading by example

Requirements

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and associates
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle a diverse crew in a stressful environment
  • Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and box cutter safety
  • Ability to use forklift, harness, power jack, walk behind lift, WAV, baler, compactor
  • Must be available to work until close (10pm) at least three nights per week
