About This Role

The Shift Lead is responsible for opening and closing the store, managing cash handling, and ensuring operational readiness. This role also involves delivering exceptional customer service and coaching team members to maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the store, including system start-ups, cash handling, and preparing the store for business.
  • Manage product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops, and provide change for registers.
  • Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, resolving issues and answering questions.
  • Coach team members on customer service best practices and Walgreens service traits.
  • Assist with and coach team members on the warehouse and vendor ordering process.
  • Register all sales accurately on the cash register, including handling scanning errors and price verifications.
  • Assist in reviewing order exceptions and managing reverse logistics.
  • Evaluate and develop displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure proper basic department pricing and signage.
  • Assist with bookkeeping activities (cash report, cash counts, ledgers, bill payment) as requested.
  • Ensure exterior and interior maintenance, including requesting repairs in manager's absence.
  • Separate food items and manage product placement/stock rotation according to policy.
  • Serve as liaison between management and non-management team members, communicating assigned tasks.
  • Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.

Requirements

  • 1 year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English

Qualifications

  • One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of store inventory control

Certifications

PTCB certification (Required)
