Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

About This Role

This role delivers a delightful customer experience by processing sales, assisting pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions, and resolving customer inquiries. It involves comprehensive pharmacy support functions and adherence to regulatory compliance within a retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience
• Register sales on assigned cash register and provide efficient checkout service
• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy
• Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient/drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience
• Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, including filling prescriptions
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
