Shift Lead

About This Role

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for opening and closing the store, managing cash handling, assisting customers, overseeing operations, and mentoring team members to ensure a smooth and efficient business day.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, including system start-ups and cash handling procedures
• Process product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and manage cash registers
• Engage customers and patients, resolve issues, and provide assistance to ensure a positive experience
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members
• Assist with warehouse and vendor ordering processes
• Manage sales on the cash register, including error records and price modifications
• Assist with reviewing order exceptions and reverse logistics
• Evaluate and develop merchandise displays, completing resets and revisions
• Maintain accurate inventory counts in all store locations
• Ensure compliance with the Outdate program and basic department pricing
• Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports and bill payments
• Ensure exterior and interior store cleanliness and appearance
• Assist with separation of food items and product placement according to policy
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members
• Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management

Requirements

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English

Qualifications

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of store inventory control
• Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license (as required by state)
