Shift Lead

About This Role

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of management, ensuring a positive customer experience, and maintaining operational standards. This role involves opening and closing the store, managing cash, assisting with inventory, and coaching team members.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including system start-ups and cash handling
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and cash drops
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience
• Engage customers and patients, offering assistance and resolving issues
• Hold store keys for opening and closing as necessary
• Assist with and coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes
• Accurately register all sales on assigned cash register, including scanning errors and price modifications
• Assist manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions and reverse logistics
• Assist in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional and seasonal merchandise
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and daily price changes, ensuring proper signage
• Assist with bookkeeping activities including cash reports and bill payment as requested
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Serve as liaison between management and non-management team members, communicating assigned tasks

Requirements

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English

Qualifications

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
