Shift Lead

About This Role

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for opening and closing the store, managing cash handling, and overseeing daily operations. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and supporting store management in various retail tasks.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, including system start-ups and cash handling procedures
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and cash drops
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging with customers and resolving issues
• Assist with and coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes
• Register all related sales on cash registers, including scanning error records and price verifications
• Assist in reviewing order exceptions and managing reverse logistics
• Evaluate and develop displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities across departments and stockroom
• Ensure compliance with the Outdate program and basic department pricing
• Assist with bookkeeping activities such as cash reports, counts, and bill payments
• Ensure clean, neat, and orderly store conditions, and assist with maintenance requests
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks

Requirements

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of store inventory control
• Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state
