Shift Lead

About This Role

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for opening and closing the store, managing cash handling, and overseeing daily store operations. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service and ensuring store readiness, while also assisting with inventory, pricing, and team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, including system startups and cash handling
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and cash drops
• Engage customers and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members
• Work with warehouse and vendor ordering processes
• Register all sales on cash registers and handle related errors/modifications
• Assist in reviewing order exceptions and managing reverse logistics
• Evaluate and develop displays, including promotional and seasonal merchandise
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and execute daily price changes
• Assist with bookkeeping activities and ensure store cleanliness and appearance
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws for regulated products
• Serve as liaison between management and non-management team members

Requirements

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of store inventory control
• Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license (as required by state)
