Shift Lead

About This Role

The Shift Lead is responsible for opening and closing the store, managing cash handling, and overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure a positive customer experience and efficient workflow. This role involves leading team members in product-related tasks and maintaining store standards.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, including system startups, cash handling, and preparing the store for business
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops, and provide change
• Engage customers, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members
• Assist with and coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register, including handling scanning errors and price verifications
• Assist manager in reviewing order exceptions and managing reverse logistics (returns)
• Evaluate and develop product displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise, and complete resets
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure the accuracy of on-hand quantities
• Ensure the Outdate program is followed and manage basic department pricing and daily price changes
• Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports, counts, ledgers, and bill payments
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring a clean, neat, and orderly store condition
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members, communicating assigned tasks

Requirements

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
