Shift Lead

About This Role

The Shift Lead is responsible for opening and closing the store, managing cash handling, and ensuring operational readiness. This role also focuses on delivering a positive customer experience, assisting with inventory, and coaching team members.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, including system start-ups and cash handling
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and cash drops
• Model and deliver a distinctive customer experience by engaging with customers and resolving issues
• Hold store keys to open and close without management as necessary
• Assist with and coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes
• Process sales on cash registers, including scanner error records and price verifications
• Assist in reviewing order exceptions and managing reverse logistics (e.g., returns)
• Evaluate and develop displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure proper signage for pricing
• Assist with bookkeeping activities, cash reports, ledgers, and bill payments
• Ensure store cleanliness and appearance, and request system repairs as needed
• Assist with separation of food items and product placement according to policy
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Serve as a liaison between management and team members by communicating assigned tasks

Requirements

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English

Qualifications

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of store inventory control
• Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license (as required by state)
