Shift Lead

About This Role

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for opening and closing the store, managing cash handling, assisting customers, and overseeing store operations to ensure a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, including system start-ups and cash handling procedures
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and cash drops
• Engage customers, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive experience
• Assist with and coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register, including error records and price verifications
• Assist manager in reviewing order exceptions and managing reverse logistics
• Assist in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional and seasonal merchandise
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure accuracy of on-hand quantities
• Assist with team members in following the Outdate program
• Responsible for basic department pricing and making daily price changes, ensuring proper signage
• Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports and bill payments
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure cleanliness and appearance
• Assist with separation of food items and product placement according to policies, and stock rotation
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks

Requirements

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English

Qualifications

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
