Senior Investment Accountant

About This Role

This role involves managing accounting and financial reporting for investment portfolios, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and providing insights to management. The Senior Investment Accountant will join a dynamic team within a rapidly growing PE-backed financial services company.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the accounting and reporting for the company's investment portfolios, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and alternative investments
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual investment accounting reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
• Monitor and analyze investment performance, identifying trends and variances, and providing insights to management
• Perform monthly reconciliations of investment accounts and resolve any discrepancies
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures related to investments
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support
• Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements and implement new standards as necessary

Requirements

• 2-3 years of relevant finance experience
• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements related to investment accounting
• Proficiency in investment accounting software and financial reporting tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2-3 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry
