Assist pharmacists in providing pharmacy services to customers, ensuring accurate prescription fulfillment and an excellent customer experience, while adhering to all state, federal, and company regulations.
Responsibilities
- Engage customers and patients, offering assistance with products and services and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience
- Model and share customer service best practices with team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful experience
- Assist in the practice of pharmacy under direct pharmacist supervision, following all state, federal, and company policy
- Utilize pharmacy systems to accurately enter patient and drug information and process prescriptions
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying accuracy, and checking for interactions
- Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow within the pharmacy department
- Promptly report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and follow quality improvement procedures
- Adhere strictly to Good Faith Dispensing policies during all prescription dispensing activities
- Register sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required, and assist customers in locating products
- Handle telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist's personal attention, including calls to physicians
- Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely manner
- Assist with inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals
- Assist in administering clinical services including collecting blood/urine samples and coordinating services with healthcare providers
- Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing relationships with the local medical community
- Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked, clean, neat, and orderly in appearance and condition
Requirements
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico)
- One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
- Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
- Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in specific locations)
Qualifications
- One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
Nice to Have
- Prior work experience with Walgreens
- Good math skills (counting, measuring and weighing medications)
- Basic level PC skills
- Knowledge of store inventory control
Certifications
PTCB or ExCPT certification
