Security Specialist - Health Center

About This Role

This role involves providing high-level customer service, conducting mobile and foot patrols, and identifying security, safety, and maintenance issues in a health center setting. The Security Specialist ensures the safety and security of the premises.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of customer service when interacting with employees, visitors, and co-workers
• Drive the security vehicle around the site, patrolling parking lots and building exteriors
• Walk the interior and exterior of the various office buildings on site
• Keep an eye out for security, safety, and maintenance issues during patrols
• Report for shift on time, presentable, and in the prescribed uniform
• Balance outstanding customer service with maintaining client policies and enforcing rules
• Read and interpret written post guidelines, follow procedures as outlined, and ensure all tasks are completed
• Use de-escalation techniques through verbal judo and other communication tactics

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• May NOT have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and randomly thereafter
• Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image
• Must have a valid Driver's License with a good driving record (less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years, no other major violations in the last 3 years)
• Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances, and possibly up and down stairs
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Nice to Have

• Willingness to become CPR/1st Aide/AED Certified
