Security Guest Service

About This Role

This role is responsible for patrolling the Convention Center to ensure the safety of the public, company property, and personnel. The Security/Guest Service individual will also provide assistance and information to visitors.

Responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the center, both interior and exterior, for disturbances, safety deficiencies, fire, theft, personal injuries, and policy infractions
• Aid customers and visitors by answering questions and offering assistance during emergencies
• Know, understand, and enforce company rules and regulations
• Report suspicious or unusual occurrences or deficiencies to supervisor or department head
• Write concise, clear, and complete reports on accidents and incidents (guests and employees)
• Secure building after hours and maintain patrol
• Utilize control center equipment including cameras, fire alarm system, alarm monitoring equipment, lighting, and computer equipment
• Act as an informational resource for attendees with directions and island activities
• Sound alarm, call police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons
• Perform cash handling and/or cashiering functions based on demand

Requirements

• Previous 3-6 months experience as a security guard or similar position
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information
• Flexibility to work required nights and afternoons, weekends and holidays
• Ability to physically perform the duties of this position
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to listen to and follow instructions
• Ability to work and get along with others
• Professional attitude, appearance, and personality
• Clear police record

Qualifications

• 3-6 months experience as a security guard or similar position
