The Sales Development Representative acts as the initial point of contact for new merchant partners, driving the top of the sales funnel by sourcing, qualifying, and securing meetings for the Outside Sales team. This role focuses on high-volume outreach to SMB restaurants to build partnerships that support business growth.
Responsibilities
- Identify, contact, and qualify important merchants and decision makers in assigned market
- Conduct high-volume cold calling (65+ dials per day) and emailing to generate interest
- Secure qualified meetings for field sellers
- Partner with field sellers to move business forward
- Refine sales messaging, prospecting, qualifying, and closing techniques
- Build expertise in lead generation, consultative discovery, and storytelling
- Gain exposure to both inside and outside sales motions
Requirements
- 1+ years experience in high-volume outbound cold calling
- Track record of exceeding daily, weekly, or monthly goals
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proactivity in problem solving and comfort working autonomously
- Creative outreach tactics
- Talent for motivating potential partners
- Experience navigating sales tools and internal tools (Salesforce, Google Apps)
- Willingness to learn quickly, adapt to change, and absorb feedback
