Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in the NICU, focusing on medically complex critical illnesses and employing advanced technology and interventions. Implement and monitor patient care plans, communicate conditions, and coordinate care across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Care for patients with life-threatening, medically complex critical illness or diagnosis
- Deliver highly skilled care with use of technology and complex interventions
- Initiate measures for emergency treatment of patients, including infant resuscitation and advanced life support procedures
- Implement and monitor patient care plans, recording and communicating patient condition as appropriate
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team
- Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing care, ensuring age-specific and clinical needs are met
- Demonstrate professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model and use ANA Code of Ethics
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
- Six months' registered nurse experience
- BLS HCP certification
- RN license in Missouri or Compact State
- ALS, ENPC, NRP, PALS, or TNCC certification
